Calling you in

The Bored Sexologist is a space with a culture of calling in. This means that I am interested in meeting people where they are, while also inviting them to go beyond as I share knowledge and insights from sex research and academia.

I want to promote an atmosphere where people can be their vulnerable selves to express their doubts and concerns about sex and sexuality without fearing to be judged or scrutinized. Similarly, I expect everyone to grant others the same wish.

This doesn't mean, however, that I will not call out things for what they are - fascism, sexism, racism, ableism, colonialism, genocide, etc. It also does not mean that I cannot be called out, on the contrary.

I understand my experiences are specific and that my whiteness and other layers of privilege will sometimes make me oblivious to the level of oppression other people experience. But I want to pay attention.
