Q&A

I started doing a Q&A when I transferred my Portuguese blog to an Instagram account and the platform kept erasing my posts and threatening to end my account due to violations of the community guidelines. Nipples, basically, and a bush here and there. I don’t think I was ever brave enough to post a penis. Q&A it is, I thought, and there it was for a number of years, and here I am now.

The Bored Sexologist’s Q&A is a weekly Friday event where you get to ask questions about sex and sexuality and I get to answer to you based on my clinical and research knowledge.

Common topics include gender identity, sexual orientation, sexual response, sexual health, and relationships, but you get to ask about whatever you want.

Note that my answers are quick reactions to the little information you provide me and therefore simplifications of complex issues that a snapshot on Instagram cannot fully answer.

Know that if you ask for my advice, I will give it to you, but this is limited to the (little) information I have access to. I will lack context and the specifics about your life.

Although I am a psychologist and sexual therapist, the Q&A is not prescriptive, nor a substitute for therapy or a diagnosis. It’s also not a medical consultation and you might need a referral to these services.

Finally, the Q&A is not anonymous, but it is confidential. I am the only person reading your questions and I will not reveal your identity under any circumstance without your explicit request, despite sharing your questions with the community.

Ask me anything. I am here.
